  12. Meanwhile I’m here in a dutch city, where this has been this way since the city was constructed about 500 years ago. We have a market place where cars are only allowed to go 15 km/h, it’s a commercial and residential zone, and it has been this way since hundreds of years

  13. Replace street parking with underground parking eh? That just wont happen. Local residents will just have to sell their cars or leave them unattended outside the city.

  22. Why I love Spain. The walkability, and access. This is in other places of Spain and great public transpo. Just amazing! Hated returning to the US and driving in LA-_- Also, highways and cars are unhealthy, and put in close proximity to houses, schools, and parks in low income. Spain you’re doing it, right! Health its a privilege for rich, but a right or all of us.

  26. Try the city of Groningen (the Netherlands): no cars can enter the city so people use bikes. It is way faster than using cars in the city, it is cheaper and you can park anywhere. Also, it is quite safe as there are no cars and the general mood is better too as there are more people out on the streets.

  46. 42 hours with only stopping for gas and no sleep and going over 100 mph. More like 3-5 days going the speed limit and stopping when needed.

  50. this is great.. I mean I love my car but It just feels more natural to walk everywhere when possible. Maybe there can be a balance, because even with superblocks you’ll need a car for some things, but yeah you’d use it less often
